Galatians 5

“For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”

 

 

(In Reference)- For all the law is accomplished in one word, Even in this; You will love your neighbor as yourself.

 

 

 

“But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.”

 

 

(In Reference)- “But if you bite and devour one another, take caution that you be not harming one of another.

 

 

 

“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”

 

 

 (In Reference)- This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the desires of the flesh. 

 

 

“For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.”

 

 

(In Reference)- “For the flesh desires against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are against the one to the other, so that you cannot do the things that you would.”

 

 

“But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.”

 

 

(In Reference)- “But if you are being led in the spirit, you are not under the law.”

 

 

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,”

 

 

(In Reference)- “Now these are the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these;  “Adultery,” (Sex while married or voluntary sex between married couple.)

 

 

“Fornication,” (sex before marriage)

 

 

“Uncleanness.” (being dirty; sinfulness; or filthiness)

 

 

“Lasciviousness,” (sexual; lustful)

 

 

 

 “Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,”

 

 

"Idolatry." (Worshiping idols, such as things or people)

 

 

"Witchcraft." (Sorcery; black magic; enchantments or bewitching)

 

 

"Hatred," (Strong dislike or ill will)

 

 

"Variance," (conflict; disagreement; or differences)

 

 

"Emulations," (imitate someone with jealousy; desire to be equal to)

 

 

"Wrath," (Extreme anger; rage; or fury)

 

 

"Strife,"(conflicts, anger or bitter disagreements over small issues)

 

 

"Seditions,"(Cunning in speech enticing people to rebel or do wrong)

 

 

"Heresies," (Belief of one’s opinion is opposite from the doctrine (Scripture)

 

 

"Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."

 

 

"Envying," (Desire to posses what belongs to another)

 

 

"Murders," (Attack, or kill someone unlawfully)

 

 

"Drunkenness," (An excessive amount of alcohol)

 

 

"Revellings, (Enjoy life in a nosey and lively way, especially with partying.) and such like; of things like it. I tell you as I told you before, that they which do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God."

 

 

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,"

 

 

“The fruit of the spirit is “Love,” (Charity; compassion; kindness.)

 

 

“Joy,” (“a feeling of great happiness; smile and rejoice)

 

 

“Peace.” (Tranquil- freedom from disturbance; or Serene- untroubled; calm or silent)

 

 

“Long suffering.” (Showing patience despite trouble; manage to suffer uncomfortably for a long period of time)

 

 

“Gentleness.” (Becoming a kindhearted and tender character)

 

 

“Goodness,” (Being morally good and virtuous)

 

 

“Faith,” (Complete trust and confidence in God and in the scripture.)

 

 

“Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

 

 

"Meekness,"(Being kind, submissive, humble, patient, long-suffering and gentle)

 

 

"Temperance: (Having self-control and/or abstinence from alcohol.) against such there is no law.

 

 

“And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.”

 

 

"And they that are Christ's (people) have killed their flesh and the affections and lusts."

 

 

“If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”

 

 

"If we live in the Spirt, let us also walk in the Spirit."

 

 

“Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.”

 

 

"Let us not be wanting useless glory, like pride or us wanting our way, tempting one another, and being jealous of one another."
